Rest, recovery, sleep are all encapsulated in downtime. We may think that we can be constantly stimulated from food to entertainment, aclohol, exercise, and stress without much harm. But without proper downtime, the tissues can't heal. Some studies have a shown a link to cancer, inflammation, and dementia because of this lack of rest and recovery.
