“Monitor your blood pressure every 1-2 years.” Now we’re talking business doctor. If only you can get this out to a wider audience of practitioners. Those pushing for life long athletes with zero (and I mean zero) co-morbidities to buy blood pressure monitors and monitor blood pressure 2-4 times a week creates nothing more than panic culture. Keep doing what you’re doing! Thank you.

A wise observation, Noah. Thank you for bringing this up. If you approach any health conundrum with the goal of diagnosing a condition, looking at it enough times, you will. Take a person with not risk factors or blood pressure problems and prime them with the anxious feeling of high BP and soon enough all of their readings will be at treatment target levels. Measuring blood pressure at every doctor visit, even for refilling acne medication is where clinical medicine has disconnected from real world data. Measuring once a year is more than sufficient.
