What makes a positive energy difference for me at 65, after doing everything else "right." HRT from a doctor who actually knows what they are doing. Same for Optimal thyroid care - not the check TSH, prescribe T4 to a level anywhere within the "normal" range, and ignore patient symptoms that a lot of doctors do.

Thank you for sharing! I just shared a video on Linkedin about how age-related hormone replacement tends to be too cookie-cutter. For women, the right balance of testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone is really important. Sometimes it can be achieved with some lifestyle changes and other times it really needs exogenous hormones or else the patient suffers. For men it's a little easier to tell when testosterone needs replacing but the discussion is often also happening too late. For men, the hard part is monitoring all the various parameters like PSA, hemoglobin, liver, and lipid levels.

Thyroid replacement is an art, much less a science. I'm glad you found someone who understands your body's needs.

Excellent synthesis of lifestyle medicine backed by practical patient feedback. The emphasis on stress reduction for bloating, energy, and weight issues is spot on, in my experiance clinicians often overlook the gut-brain axis under time pressure. I noticed the progressionfrom skin/hair to metabolic concerns mirrors how aging compounds when foundational issues like sleep and cortisol aren't adressed first.
